Privacy policy

This policy is part of our terms of service. By using the site or buying a watch, you accept both.

The short version

If you only use the calculator, we store nothing about you. If you buy a watch, we store the numbers you entered, your email address, and your first name if you gave one, because we need them to do the job you paid for. We never sell or share your data. There is no advertising and no cross-site tracking anywhere on this site.

What we collect, and when

  • The free calculator: your inputs are sent to our server to compute the answer and are not saved. We keep anonymous counters (how many calculations ran, which price was shown) with no personal data attached.
  • Buying a watch: we store the numbers you typed, your email, your first name if you gave one, what you paid, and a record of which alerts we have sent you. Payment is processed by Stripe, so your card details go to Stripe rather than to us. Stripe's own privacy policy covers that part.
  • Alert emails: sent through our email provider (Resend) with your email address and the content of your alert.
  • Site analytics, if you accept:we ask before turning on our own analytics (Umami), which runs on our own server and never leaves our infrastructure — nothing is sent to Google, Meta, or any other third party. It counts page visits, and it records how a visitor moves through the site, so we can see which parts work and which don't. Those recordings mask what you type into forms, and they are deleted after 30 days. It sets no cookies and doesn't identify you by name. The private link to your own mortgage is stripped out before anything is recorded, so it can never end up in our analytics. If you'd rather none of this happened, decline — nothing loads before you say yes.
  • The AI tools, if you use them: when you ask us to read a pasted letter, explain a result, or build a checklist, the text you paste and the figures we calculated are sent to our AI provider, Google (Gemini API), to produce the answer. That request may be processed outside the UK. We do not store the text, and we never send your email or name with it. Paste only the figures you need to.

What we never do

  • We never sell or share personal data with brokers, lenders, or anyone else.
  • We use no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics. Our own analytics is opt-in and asks first; nothing loads before you say yes.
  • We send no marketing email. Every email from us is an alert about your own mortgage or a sign-in link you asked for.

How long we keep it

We keep your watch data while the watch runs and for 12 months after your deal ends, so the page you saved keeps working. After that it is deleted. You can delete it sooner yourself at any time — see below.

Your rights

UK GDPR applies. You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Sign in and open your account page for instant, self-serve versions of both: a “Download my data” button that gives you everything we hold as a file, and a “Delete my account” option that erases it all straight away — no waiting on a person. You can also delete a single mortgage without touching the rest of your account, from that mortgage's own settings. Prefer email instead, or need a correction? Write to [email protected]and a person will do it. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
